Want to explore a totally new mountain bike location?

Based in the south of France near the Provence region lies the Ardèche, an amazing mountainous region brimming with flowing trails, rivers and simply awesome food!.

Where are we staying?

Day 1: You will arrive at your gîtes where you will get settled in after your day’s travelling. We understand that travelling can be exhausting so we’ll leave you to relax explore your local area and prepare for your exhilarating week ahead!

Day 2: On Sunday morning you will be met by your local guide who will talk you through the week ahead. They will make sure you have all the equipment needed and if anything is missing they will make sure you are able to pick up the bits you are missing After lunch it’s time to get our legs moving on our first ride out exploring the trails around Berrias and Casteljau.

Day 3: Your days adventure begins in the labyrinth that is Le Bois de Païolive, an amazing forest filled with a multitude of trails, weaving in and around white oak and grand limestone features carved from the rock by the weather. After a hearty lunch, we drop into the Chassezac gorge.

Day 4:  We all  enjoy a 35km ride through the Labeaume valley passing through the town of Largentiere and many other medieval villages.

Day 5: Start of on an old railway line dated back to 1821 in the Cheylard down the valley of l’Eyrieux where you will ride a part of the cycling route called the Dolce Via a mighty 75km ride where you will be able to just roll down and enjoy the scenery.

Day 6: Starting high on the Ardèche plateau in the beautiful village of Montselgues this is our big downhill day all the way to the village of Les Vans. We won’t lie there is a little climbing, but the downs more than make up for it!

Day 7: What trip to the Ardèche would be complete without a ride through the famous Gorge de L’Ardèche passing by the prehistoric Grotte Chauvet and the fantastic valley of Ibie. Keep your eyes peeled for the magnificent wildlife as you go by the famous Vallon Pont d’Arc where you will then ride all the way up to the amazing Chateau de Roure at Labastide Virac. Enjoy this ride showing all the Ardèche has to offer.

Day 8: Departure day. We’ll come and wish you a fond farewell, providing you with any directions or information you may need for the journey ahead. We hope to see you back very soon!

Where are we staying?

On the Explore the Ardèche trip You will be staying in a local gite in a small village near Les Vans

What bikes do we need

You will be peddling up hill, so don’t bring your downhill sled, Any trail or Enduro bike will do the job, but we have been known to ride our hardtails round here as well.

Can I hire bikes?

Sure if you don’t want to bring your own then we can arrange a hire bike, just drop us a line and we can talk through the options

What kit do I need to bring

Bring enough cycle clothing for seven days of cycling,

Our trails are quite rocky, so pads are always advisable.

Make sure you have plenty of inner tubes, or you use sealant, we got thorns.

if you don’t want to bring a helmet, we can provide one, please let us know when you book.

Tools and essential spares for your bike.

Is there a workshop

There will be a space in the Gite where you can make any adjustments or repairs to your kit.

We also know all the local bike shops, so if you need a readily available part then that should not be an issue, if you bike has any parts which may break and could be hard to come by we suggest you bring spares.

Can I use an E-bike

Of course you can bring E bikes,

I want to miss a day

Of course you can, we won’t force you to take part if you are not feeling up to it

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes we do recommend that you have travel insurance which will specifically cover you for the activities you will be doing with us.

 

 

What happens next?

So the countdown is ticking, you’ve booked your Adventure Ardeche trip, but what happens next? After booking, we’ll immediately send you an email confirmation receipt, which you should keep for your records. A member of the team will be in touch soon thereafter to arrange the finer details of your adventure, including where to meet, what you need to bring, accommodation, activities, and to answer to any questions you may have. If you have chosen to pay a deposit we will be in touch with you to take the remainder of your balance four weeks before you arrive.
