The Ardèche

Join us in 2024 for some paddling fun in the sun

Have you not heard about the Ardèche? Let us fill you in…

32 km of sun dappled river in the south of France… Sounds good? How about a boat load of whitewater? Peaked your interest yet? How about sleeping under stars, on a self supported river trip, sleeping deep in the gorge under a million stars, with a tasty bbq for your evening meal, surrounded by friends?

I mean it sounds brilliant right?

Well this year is the year to take the trip of a lifetime, East of England Paddlesports have organised a fun filled weekend of paddlesport fun for you, your friends and your family.

What's the plan?

You arrive on Friday at our Hotel and meet your paddling buddies, once you settled in you are free to take advantage of our private pool.

Or if you so wish you can have a drink at the bar, or even take a walk or drive into the local town and have a look around and have something to eat from a selection of local restaurants and eateries.

On the Saturday, after breakfast we put our paddling kit on and launch from our private beach and after a short coaching session to make sure you are all ready to rock we set off into the Ardèche gorge .

On Sunday after your river trip is complete we arrive back at our centre freshen up and relax.

Monday comes far too fast, and it’s time to wave farewell, and see you soon.

You arrive on Friday at our riverside centre Bas du Cros and meet your paddling buddies, once you settled in you are free to take advantage of our private beach and take a dip in the river.

What do I need to Bring

All Paddlesport equipment will be provided by our outfitters, so no need to bring your boat, paddle, buoyancy aid, helmet and dry bag, but if you want to wear your own BA and helmet then that’s cool.

Bring a sleeping bag, a set of wet footwear and a dry bag for your essentials (you don’t want to be opening your main dry bag/barrel on the river)

On the river you will need a rash vest to protect you from the sun (it gets HOT think 35 degrees plus.) Sunglasses are always a must, because who doesn’t want to look cool, we often recommend a buff as they are great to cool down. The most important thing is a water bottle!

For Bivi you’ll want a towel, dry clothes, and shoes, and possibly a bit of aftersun and insect repellent.

It’s also important to not forget to pack your glad rags and your dancing shoes…. because you never know.

The essentials are available at the   EOEPS shop and you can get a special discount using the code ARDECHE10 at checkout

How do we get There?

Most of our guests drive down oner a number of days and then slowly make their way back, sampling many different locations as they go.

We are close (ish) to a number of airports, Bezieres (cheap flights) Marsailles (good railway connection and a lovely bar outside) Lyon (it’s big) from these you can get a hire car, or a train and a hire car to us in Salavas.
